Job description

At LearnLux, you will build a product that changes lives. Our mission is to empower people to take control of their financial future, whether that means getting out of debt, buying their first home, or preparing for retirement. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to shape this mission by building features that directly impact millions of lives and contribute to a platform that is revolutionizing how people access fiduciary financial guidance.

In this role, you’ll work on complex challenges that come with scaling a global platform, including frontend architecture, data architecture, backend integrations, and cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will support a scalable, secure, and high-performance product. You won’t just be writing code - you’ll influence how we build, working closely with Product, Design, Sales, and the broader LearnLux team to ensure we deliver on our mission.

We’re a small, fast-moving team where your voice carries. As a Senior Engineer at LearnLux, you’ll have a seat at the table from day one - not just building the product, but shaping it. You’ll collaborate directly with Product, Design, and other teams to influence what we build, why we build it, and how it comes to life. You’ll help define elegant technical solutions to meaningful problems, ensuring that every line of code delivers value to the people we serve. This is a rare opportunity to leave your mark on a platform that’s improving lives, while growing alongside a team that values initiative, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

This role is 100% remote within the US and reports to the Head of Engineering.

A day in the life:
  • Lead projects from concept to delivery, ensuring impactful and scalable products that help millions achieve their financial goals.
  • Contribute to feature development from planning through implementation, helping people achieve their financial goals.
  • Work with Product and Design to scope and deliver solutions that are valuable, usable, and feasible.
  • Build frontend experiences using React and TypeScript, developing scalable, maintainable components and interfaces.
  • Design and implement backend systems and APIs with Python, Node.js, and Serverless Functions, deployed on Google Cloud Platform with Firestore and Firebase.
  • Think like a product engineer bringing curiosity, empathy, and pragmatism into tradeoffs and technical decisions.
  • Explore ways to improve development speed, quality, and creativity using AI-assisted tooling and frameworks.
  • Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Support teammates through collaboration, pairing, and thoughtful technical discussion.
What we’re looking for:
  • Extensive full stack experience with React, Node.js, and Python, and the ability to take ownership of end-to-end solutions as a technical lead on projects.
  • Experience with modern frontend and backend architecture, and comfort working across the stack in dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable systems on Google Cloud Platform, especially with Firestore, Firebase, and Cloud Functions.
  • Proficiency in backend systems design, API architecture, and working with both relational and non-relational data models.
  • Experience in leveraging AI tooling to enhance personal productivity, team innovation, and product engagement.
  • A product-minded approach to engineering—care for the person on the other side of the screen, and curiosity about how technical decisions shape outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects, collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and contributing to a high-performing, mission-driven engineering team.
  • Remote-first company structure
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Financial wellbeing (LearnLux)
  • Equity (Full-time employees)
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years of service
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth at a fast-growing startup at the cutting edge intersection of financial wellness and technology
