Job summary

Brickstech is leading a major modernization of a state-wide licensing platform in Georgia, migrating from legacy ASP.NET to .NET8+ with Azure and React-based UI. You will own design decisions, cloud integration, and end-to-end delivery from concept to production.

The role emphasizes ownership, initiative, and the ability to work independently on architecture, development, testing, deployment, and operational support for a mission-critical system.

Qualifications

• React experience within an existing application (not greenfield)
• Power BI or SSRS reporting development (3+ years)
• Government/healthcare/public sector systems with compliance and data sensitivity (3+ years)
• ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility knowledge (3+ years)
• Azure Agentic AI services or AI integrations in production
• Middleware platforms such as Boomi or MuleSoft (3+ years)
• 8+ years of professional .NET development (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API)
• Migrating legacy ASP.NET to modern .NET (6/7/8/10)
• Production SQL Server: stored procedures, T-SQL tuning, migrations, data cleanup
• Azure hands-on: App Services, Functions, deployment pipelines
• 5+ years delivering software in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) using ADO or GitHub
• Modernized a real application from legacy ASP.NET to .NET6/7/8/10
• Designed and maintained RESTful APIs used by external systems
• Debugged production issues independently

Responsibilities

• Champion modernization of licensing/applications, moving to modern .NET and Azure-based architectures
• Design scalable, secure, maintainable solutions to reduce technical debt
• Build and evolve API-first integrations and services for future capabilities
• Develop cloud-native solutions using Azure App Services and Functions
• Own SQL Server data architecture, performance tuning, migrations
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for testing, deployment, release management
• Drive engineering excellence via code reviews, automation, and documentation
• Build/maintain React UI components within the modernization roadmap
• Integrate third-party services and internal APIs with clean documentation
• Implement reporting using SSRS and Power BI
• Participate in AI initiatives using Azure AI services and related tooling
• Collaborate in architecture reviews, sprint ceremonies, and peer reviews
