Job summary

Princeton IT Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Developer to design and build full-stack .NET and GIS solutions, integrating enterprise systems and ArcGIS-based applications.

You will work across application development, spatial data, Azure services, integrations, and GIS workflow automation. The role requires extensive experience with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, EF, SQL Server, ArcGIS, and RESTful APIs, along with strong front-end skills and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development with .NET and GIS experience.
• Bachelor's in CS/Software Eng, GIS or related field; master's preferred.
• 8+ years full-stack .NET with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, EF, SQL Server, Azure.
• Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Angular.
• Minimum 4 years ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap design and development.
• Hands-on with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, Python (ArcPy), Arcade, ModelBuilder.
• Knowledge of ESRI suite: ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise/Server/Portal/SDE.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to design and develop full-stack .NET and GIS solutions, integrate enterprise systems, and support ArcGIS-based applications. The consultant will work across application development, spatial data, Azure services, integrations, and GIS workflow automation.

What You'll Do

• Develop full-stack solutions using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, Entity Framework, JavaScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET.
• Design and develop interfaces and integration flows using Visual Studio and related application platforms.
• Develop and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, queries, and geospatial data structures.
• Build scalable applications using Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and other Azure services.
• Design, develop, and enhance ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap applications and custom extensions for spatial data editing.
• Develop GIS tools and workflows using Python, ArcPy, Arcade, ModelBuilder, and similar technologies.
• Integrate GIS applications and data with enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
• Manage, process, convert, analyze, and maintain spatial data while ensuring GIS data quality and accuracy.
• Optimize spatial databases and file geodatabases for performance and usability.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integration solutions for GIS and enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and interface designers to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and application performance improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, workflows, system designs, and user guides.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and support adoption across the organization and other city agencies.
• Ensure solutions follow industry standards, security protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development as required for the Programmer 3 labor category.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, GIS, or a related field. Master s degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack .NET Developer with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, Entity Framework, MVC, SQL Server, and Azure.
• Strong front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or related frameworks.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap solution design and development.
• Hands‑on experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, Python, ArcPy, Arcade, and ModelBuilder.
• Strong knowledge of the ESRI product suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal, SDE DataStore, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, and ArcMap.
• Experience with geospatial databases including SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps, Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, ALM, CI/CD, and release management.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
• Azure certifications are a plus.
