Job summary

Capital One in the United States is seeking a Sr. Manager Software Engineer within Risk Tech to lead a portfolio of distributed microservices and full-stack systems, delivering regulatory-compliant solutions powered by AI.

You will mentor engineers, stay current with tech trends, collaborate with product managers, and build cloud-based experiences using JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, and AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum 4 years of people management experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with open source frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
• Mentor engineers, stay updated with tech trends, and participate in internal/external tech communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for wide user bases.
• Utilize JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, plus AWS services and containers.
