Job summary

Checkr is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in San Francisco to own end-to-end development, from concept to customer impact. You will build scalable APIs and front-end features using Ruby on Rails and React, collaborating with customers, engineers, and leaders to shape the product.

You will work in a fast-paced startup-like environment within Checkr Trust, leveraging autonomy to drive MVPs, maintainable code, and rapid iteration while balancing speed and quality.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in computer science or an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of full stack software development experience.
• Advanced knowledge in Ruby (Rails) and JavaScript (React).
• Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders to ship features.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch new products with customers, engineers, and leaders.
• Own end-to-end development from idea to deployment.
• Build and improve APIs, integrating with third-party services.
• Adopt a customer-centric, product-first approach and work with customer success and stakeholders.
• Ensure code reliability with testing, reviews, and best practices.
• Run experiments and measure outcomes to guide development.
