Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full Stack Engineer 4 (Manager IC) for Operational Risk in Cambridge, MA. You will lead a portfolio of microservices and full‑stack systems, shaping tech strategy and guiding a team of engineers in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting.

You will work with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools to deliver cloud‑based risk solutions that scale across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• 7+ years of experience coding with multiple languages including Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala.
• 3+ years of experience with databases and database management systems.
• 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Mentor engineers and participate in technology communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud‑based solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and define design standards.
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries and reusable frameworks.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and drive refactoring to reduce tech debt.
