Job summary

Fireworks AI in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to architect, build, and scale its developer-focused web app fireworks.ai. The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring other engineers and collaborating across product, design, and Core AI/Infrastructure teams.

You will shape the end-to-end tech stack, deliver performant frontend interfaces, robust APIs, and orchestrated backend services, driving the developer journey and the open model

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in full stack software development.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role (tech lead, team lead or engineering manager).
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Next.js.
• Strong backend experience: building RESTful or GraphQL APIs; languages like Node.js, Python, Go.
• Database systems (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own fireworks.ai end-to-end from UI to API and data layer with a strong focus on developer experience.
• Contribute to product-led growth through the web app, model playground, and onboarding workflows.
• Design, develop, and test responsive, performant web apps and scalable backend services and APIs.
• Mentor and coach a team of engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Define and implement modern API design, database schemas, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Core AI/Infrastructure teams on requirements and timelines.
• Build reusable frontend components and modular backend services.
• Drive unified developer experience across web, SDK, and CLI surfaces.
• Champion performance, security, data integrity, and accessibility.
