Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain full-stack applications. You will leverage Ruby on Rails for backend and React for frontend to deliver accessible, secure software.

The role includes API design, CI/CD workflows, and cloud deployments for federal government clients. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, researchers, architects, and engineers to ensure solutions meet business goals and user needs, while applying TDD/BDD and

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 4 years of Ruby on Rails development.
• Strong front-end development experience using React.
• Proven experience in Agile development teams.
• Experience deploying through CI/CD pipelines and AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Solid understanding of OOP concepts.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in TDD or BDD methodologies.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, monitoring, and observability.
• Strong communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for federal government contractor.

Responsibilities

• Translate objectives into scalable technical solutions using Rails and web tech.
• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features with React.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for front-end functionality.
• Contribute across the product lifecycle including backlog, testing, and deployment.
• Develop secure, scalable cloud-based apps for federal clients.
• Work in CI/CD environments, including AWS CLI deployment workflows.
• Apply TDD/BDD to improve code quality and reliability.
• Write and maintain automated tests (RSpec, Mocha, Jasmine).
• Participate in pair programming and code reviews.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, researchers, architects, and engineers.
• Apply engineering practices for infrastructure, monitoring, and observability.
