Job summary

Quess is seeking an accomplished software engineer in the United States to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and React.js. You will build robust RESTful APIs, create responsive frontend components, and deploy to AWS, collaborating with product, design, QA, and other engineers.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of hands-on experience, deep Rails proficiency, and strong knowledge of AWS, databases, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong experience with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Experience with Redis, Sidekiq, or background job processing.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of Git version control.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2 and JWT.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, OOP principles, and SOLID principles.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and React.js.
