Job summary

Goliath Partners Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to own end-to-end technical initiatives for a rapidly expanding financial platform.

You'll work primarily on Python-based services, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure, with frontend contributions using React and TypeScript when needed. The role emphasizes architectural influence, production ownership, and delivering scalable, reliable systems across backend, databases, and cloud.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development.
• Proven experience building production applications with Python; Django experience is a strong plus.
• Experience designing REST APIs, backend services, data models, and scalable systems.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and AWS; frontend experience with React/TypeScript is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and components for core financial functionality.
• Take ownership of large-scale engineering projects from planning to production ownership.
• Develop and manage integrations with third-party APIs and external platforms.
• Collaborate on architecture, database design, service boundaries, and engineering standards.
• Work with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end product experiences.
• Investigate performance, scalability, availability, and reliability issues; optimize accordingly.
• Improve engineering practices with automated testing, observability, logging, and monitoring.
• Participate in design sessions, code reviews, sprint planning, and incident response.
• Provide technical leadership on backend initiatives and uphold engineering standards.
