Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer 4 (Python, AWS, AI) to join the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) division. You will drive distributed microservices, craft scalable cloud solutions, and steer engineering standards across Agile teams.

You will mentor peers, explore AI-enabled tooling, and contribute to performance improvements in a hybrid work setting with on-site collaboration in McLean/Richmond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across diverse projects and cross-functional teams.
• Utilize Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript; Docker and Kubernetes; AWS.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Establish engineering standards for design, development, and operations.
• Identify areas for improvement and reduce technical debt and improve performance.
• Mentor engineers and participate in internal/external tech communities.
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' culture.
