Job summary

Sendblue is seeking a Senior Engineer to own a significant portion of our production systems and to work across the full stack. You will design, build, and maintain services that run in a high-load Node.js/Postgres environment.

You will ship end-to-end changes (React frontend, Node.js backend, Postgres schema) and design for scale using queues, caching, and async pipelines. On-call rotation is part of the role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating full-stack production apps.
• Strong system design skills with ownership over large components.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with scaling, async pipelines, and messaging patterns.
• Security-minded approach to auth, secrets, data isolation, and blast radius.
• Clear, concise communication and a bias for shipping.
• Comfortable being paged, debugging under pressure, and durable fixes.

Responsibilities

• Build and support production systems end-to-end: DB schema architecture, system design, security, and infrastructure.
• Ship full-stack changes — React frontend, Node.js backend, Postgres schema, and related infra changes.
• Design for scale: message queues, async pipelines, connection pooling, caching, failure modes.
• Diagnose and fix performance problems in a live system (slow queries, hot Redis keys, load spikes).
• Own a significant part of the company's technical assets: services, data, and infrastructure that runs them.
• Take part in on-call rotation, including occasional Saturday shifts (compensated with an extra day off).
