Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack to design, develop, and support modern web applications for finance and customer-facing platforms, including PayPro+, our customer bill portal system.

This hands-on IC role builds scalable, secure, and high‑performing apps using Next.js, Java, and Kafka in a cloud-native environment. Hybrid work model: four days in office, one day work from home at our Raleigh headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7–10 years of full-stack development experience
• Strong experience with Next.js, React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) backend development experience
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices
• Experience with Kafka or event-driven systems
• Strong SQL/database experience
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support full-stack applications using modern web technologies (Next.js, Java)
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Develop and support Kafka-based event-driven integrations
• Integrate applications with backend data systems including Oracle databases
• Write efficient SQL queries and optimize performance
• Deploy applications to containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Azure ARO)
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes
• Document technical designs and system behavior
