Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer to modernize NIH MeSH systems and migrate legacy applications to a MEAN stack. You will design secure REST services in Node.js/Express and craft responsive Angular front-ends for MeSH editing and public search.

Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL/Oracle, Elasticsearch, and Selenium-based test automation is required, along with robust DevOps practices and zero-downtime deployments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum six years of professional software engineering experience.
• Minimum five years of full-stack engineering experience across backend and frontend.
• Proficiency in Git-based version control and collaborative development.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
• Strong backend development in Node.js/Express with secure REST design.
• Frontend development with Angular 16+ and TypeScript, Angular Material, RxJS.
• Database expertise: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Node.js/Express with secure REST APIs.
• Develop responsive Angular front-ends for record and search functionalities.
• Implement automated test suites with Selenium/WebDriver across browsers.
• Administer MongoDB and PostgreSQL/Oracle databases; optimize queries and backups.
• Build and maintain Elasticsearch indexes and data synchronization.
• Develop ETL pipelines ingesting MeSH XML and SQL exports; monitor loads.
• Implement SSO/authentication and apply security hardening.
• Coordinate zero-downtime deployments and migration of legacy systems.
• Document architecture and SOPs; mentor junior engineers.
