Job summary

Truelogic is seeking a senior full-stack engineer for an AI transformation initiative with a national pediatric mental health client. The role focuses on designing and delivering AI-enabled internal tools and services across architecture, infrastructure, and deployment.

The project runs for about six months and involves collaboration with stakeholders outside the engineering org. You will prototype with AI tools, ship solutions, and ensure compliance with data privacy and governance policies

Qualifications

• Senior-level, strong full-stack engineer who can design and build an application end to end.
• Experience integrating LLMs into applications or strong full-stack experience with AI prototypes.
• Autonomy: able to own architecture, infrastructure and tooling for a project.
• Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
• Familiarity with deploying to cloud and basic infrastructure concepts (containers, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Passes client AI transformation assignment, including a recorded video.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with stakeholders outside engineering to understand workflows and identify where AI can help.
• Design the architecture of each solution and own it end to end: application, infrastructure, tooling and deployment.
• Build and ship AI-enabled internal tools, including integrations between existing systems and AI features.
• Prototype quickly using AI coding tools and iterate based on user feedback.
• Explain technical decisions and progress in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.
• Report progress to engineering management daily or weekly and flag gaps early.
• Set up environments locally and collaborate with the platform team to move solutions to production.
• Follow client data privacy, security, and governance controls for every solution.

Job Summary

The role sits within an AI transformation initiative that supports teams outside the technology organization and finds ways to improve their workflows with AI. Our client is also integrating and re-architecting parts of its platform, so the engineering org is busy and growing. The project duration is for 6 months.

• Reports to: the engineering manager leading this new team, with a Director of Engineering as executive sponsor.
• How work is chosen: the business generates a large list of AI opportunities. Management and stakeholders prioritize them, and the engineer receives a high-level project.
• How work is done: the engineer meets the stakeholders, works out what needs to be built, designs the architecture, builds it, and reports progress to engineering on a daily or weekly basis.
• Project size: varies widely. Some projects take about a week, others about two months. Some are solo, some are paired with another engineer. The engineer moves between teams and projects rather than owning one product for years.
• Solutions vary: an autonomous agent, a web application that connects internal tools, or a microservice. Not every solution includes an LLM; sometimes AI is used in the coding workflow to prototype quickly so users can give feedback early.
• Support: the manager acts as a sounding board, and a platform team supports production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with stakeholders outside engineering to understand their workflows and identify where AI can help.

• Design the architecture of each solution yourself and own it from start to finish: application, infrastructure, tooling and deployment.

• Build and ship AI-enabled internal tools, including integrations between existing systems and, where it fits, LLM-powered features or agents.

• Use AI coding tools to prototype fast, put working versions in front of users, and iterate on their feedback.

• Explain technical decisions and progress in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.

• Report progress to engineering management on a daily or weekly basis and flag gaps early.

• Set up and run your own environments locally, and work with the platform team to take solutions to production.

• Follow our clients' existing data privacy, security, and governance controls for every solution.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• Senior-level, strong full-stack engineer who can design and build an application end to end. (Java or Python, and React preferred)

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management. The engineer talks to business stakeholders every day and must translate technical work into terms non-technical people can follow. The client will not be lenient here.

• Product sense: can visualize a product, understand what a stakeholder really needs, and propose a fitting solution without a ticket or spec.

• Genuine enthusiasm for AI and a daily AI-first workflow. If you are not excited about AI, this is not the role.

• Experience integrating LLMs into applications, or strong full-stack experience plus relevant AI prototypes. Production LLM experience is not mandatory.

• Autonomy: comfortable owning architecture, infrastructure and tooling for a project, and reporting progress without being managed task by task.

• Basic infrastructure comfort: can spin up services (containers, Kubernetes, AWS) on a local machine and work with a platform team to move them to production.

• Passes our client AI transformation assignment, including a recorded video.
