Capital One Shopping Tech is seeking a seasoned Full-stack Engineer 5 to lead diverse projects and coach a skilled team. You will work with distributed microservices, frontend and backend stack, and cloud technologies to build robust, compliant solutions for millions of users.

The role emphasizes mentoring, staying current with trends, and participating in tech communities while delivering high-quality code and architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualization tech
• 9+ years of experience coding with multiple languages (Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala)
• 5+ years contributing to open source frameworks
• 5+ years frontend JavaScript/TypeScript experience
• 5+ years creating APIs (synchronous and asynchronous)
• 4+ years with databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• 4+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure or cloud tools
• 4+ years CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing
• 4+ years Git version control (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)
• 4+ years troubleshooting cloud environments
• 3+ years mentoring engineers
• 2+ years observability to optimize performance
• 1+ year leading architectural reviews and driving standards
• 1+ year enforcing coding standards and design patterns
• 1+ year implementing observability and reliability at scale
• Experience with interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity
• Experience influencing portfolio-level tech strategy
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers
