Job summary

Yoh Services LLC in Durham, NC is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Engineer to own and evolve scalable back-end services using Java Spring Boot, with a focus on event-driven architectures and secure APIs.

You will collaborate across teams, deploy to AWS, work with Docker and Kubernetes, participate in Agile rituals, mentor juniors, and drive improvements in design and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, engineering, or information systems.
• 8+ years of development with Java, Spring Boot, and event-based architectures.
• API design with authentication, RBAC, SAML/OIDC.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and web services (JSON/XML/REST/SOAP).
• Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins), Kubernetes, Terraform, and test automation.
• Experience in Agile teams, mentoring, and code reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable back-end services in Java Spring Boot, focusing on event-driven architecture using Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, secure API solutions for external and internal use.
• Support cloud deployment and management within AWS, utilizing services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and Aurora Postgres.
• Write clean, scalable code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in application design, security measures, and development practices.

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information systems
• 8+ years of development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and event-based architectures
• Proven expertise in building APIs with authentication, RBAC, SAML/OIDC
• Strong fundamentals in software design, data structures, algorithms, and web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP)
• Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and containerization using Docker
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform, and test automation strategies
• Experience working in Agile environments, mentoring team members, and performing code reviews

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Aurora Postgres database development
• Knowledge of brokerage and financial services applications
