Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Engineer for a hybrid contract role in Rutherford, NJ. You will deliver scalable full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Expect 6+ months with strong potential for extension or conversion. You will design and implement APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions while following enterprise architecture standards and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 7–10+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and JavaScript frameworks (React)
• Experience designing and building scalable full stack and microservices-based architectures
• Strong understanding of application architecture principles, design patterns, and system integration
• Knowledge of backend development, API design, and distributed systems
• Front-end expertise with Angular/React, HTML5, CSS
• SQL/PLSQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred)
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift)
• Cloud platforms (AWS) strongly preferred
• AI tools familiarity in development workflows
• Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management in Agile environments (JIRA)

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React)
• Drive end-to-end ownership of application delivery from requirements through deployment
• Define and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and implementation
• Partner with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align technology with business objectives
• Resolve complex technical challenges through analysis of processes and systems
• Provide architectural guidance for scalable and high-performing systems
• Lead development of microservices, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and cloud-native solutions
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers with technical leadership
• Contribute to strategic planning for system enhancements and process optimization
• Ensure adherence to risk, governance, and compliance standards
