Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in the United States. The role blends backend Java with frontend React work to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions.

You will design, build, and deploy microservices, APIs, and AI-enabled features across full stack. You’ll collaborate with product teams, apply Agile practices, and navigate modern tech such as Kafka, Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience across backend and frontend.
• Strong experience with Java, API, and distributed apps using Spring Boot and microservices.
• Frontend experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiar with AI APIs and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and multithreading; agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using Java.
• Write code for complex core components and frameworks.
• Develop cloud-native microservices and serverless paradigms with Spring Boot.
• Build responsive frontend apps using React and UI techs.
• Work with microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design (REST/GraphQL).
• Implement generative AI APIs and leverage LLMs for business use cases.
• Develop and integrate APIs and web services.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Work with relational (Oracle, Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Develop Python components for services, automation, or data processing.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve performance; write clean, documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions; ensure security and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud platform workflows.
• Stay current with modern tools and technologies.
