Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for our healthcare technology initiatives in the United States, Nevada region. You will design and build polished front-end interfaces and high-performance back-end services, ensuring robust integrations with SQL/NoSQL databases and RESTful APIs.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaborating with product, design, QA, security, and platform teams in a dynamic, regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in full stack development.
• BA/BS or equivalent IT experience.
• Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular or similar) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building backend services and APIs using .NET, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and RESTful integrations.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
• Experience with containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity using Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, ARM, Bicep) to provision cloud resources.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in professional software development (e.g., Copilot).
• Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare) preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (Epic) preferred.
• End-to-end ownership mindset—UI, logic, and data as one cohesive system.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
