Job summary

Epicz Lab AB is seeking a senior engineer to build an industrial AI platform from scratch, owning data models, backend services, APIs, AI integration and frontend. This tech-lead‑leaning IC role sets technical patterns for the team and directly shapes product strategy and customer value.

You will work on a modern stack including Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native tooling, delivering scalable, secure multi‑tenant solutions with evaluated governance and high craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in professional software engineering with senior ownership of systems.
• Track record architecting and shipping complex production web apps.
• Strong TypeScript with React and Next.js on the frontend and Node on the backend.
• Solid PostgreSQL, SQL and ORM skills (Drizzle, Prisma or similar).
• Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML/LLMs in production (RAG, extraction, agentic flows).
• Comfort with cloud-native development and CI/CD (Azure, Vercel, Neon).
• The judgment to set technical direction and the communication skills to lead.

Responsibilities

• Build the platform end to end across data, backend, APIs, AI and frontend.
• Design core systems: LLM-based extraction, entity resolution and LLM-powered query surfaces.
• Architect for scale across AI inference, ingestion pipelines and secure multi-tenant interactions.
• Put LLMs and ML models into production using agentic flows, RAG and extraction.
• Set the technical bar: patterns, code quality, testing and CI/CD that the team builds on.
• Mentor by example and shape the engineering culture.
• Partner with product, design and AI teams, and keep performance and technical debt in check.

We are looking for a senior engineer to build our industrial AI platform from scratch: the data model, backend services, APIs, AI integration and frontend. It is a tech‑lead‑leaning individual‑contributor role where you own meaningful work end to end and set the technical patterns the team builds on, without people management.

Epicz Lab is on a growth path toward becoming a leader in industrial AI and smart operations. We work with industrial customers moving from fragmented data to connected operations. At this stage the right person directly shapes our products, services, customer value and market position.

The platform you’ll build

• Frontend: Next.js 15 (App Router) with React Server Components, TypeScript end to end, Tailwind CSS v4 and shadcn/ui
• Backend: a cleanly layered TypeScript architecture (Model, Repository, Service, Action and API) with errors‑as‑values handling and Zod‑validated boundaries
• Data: PostgreSQL on Neon with Drizzle ORM, pgvector for embeddings and RAG, full‑text search, an append‑only bitemporal claim ledger and multi‑tenant Row‑Level Security
• AI: Azure AI Foundry via the Vercel AI SDK, powering document extraction, entity resolution and agentic natural‑language querying over the entity graph
• Platform: Vercel, GitHub Actions CI/CD, Drizzle migrations and Dagster‑based ingestion in Python, on Node 22
