Job summary

GPF Staffing in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for a fintech startup funded at $100M, building a neobank and merchant platform serving Mexico's underserved markets.

You will own greenfield features across digital banking, merchant ops, payments, lending, and AI-powered services, with ownership from concept to production and collaboration with product and design teams. On-site five days a week in SF.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience in high-growth startup environments
• Strong frontend and backend production-grade application experience
• Proficient in TypeScript, React, Node.js and modern full-stack JS frameworks
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with message queues and asynchronous processing
• Able to own complex features end-to-end
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week

Responsibilities

• Build and own full-stack features end-to-end from UI to backend
• Design scalable services for high transaction volumes in fintech domains
• Develop core banking and merchant-facing applications for SMBs
• Build a comprehensive Merchant OS with payroll, POS, inventory, and more
• Create AI-powered features and integrate with a Mexican banking platform
• Architect and optimize backend services, APIs, databases, and async systems
• Drive engineering practices and set standards for the team
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to translate requirements into production-ready software
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges from concept to delivery
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the San Francisco team grows
