Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Software Engineer to drive transformation across our technology space. You will work on a CIDX team delivering cloud-based solutions, mentoring engineers and shaping platform architectures.

You’ll apply Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, and Scala across microservices and databases, using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. This role emphasizes technical leadership and collaboration across Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Leverage Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration and AWS tools for cloud services.
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for design, development and operations.
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects.
• Identify areas for refactoring to reduce technical debt and improve performance.
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' environment.
