Job summary

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to drive modernization efforts in Workplace Solutions.

You will develop integrations between on-premise and cloud systems and lead end-to-end development of high‑performing applications and APIs. You’ll work across teams, mentor peers, and balance performance with scalability, delivering sustainable, innovative solutions aligned with Group Insurance business growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend development with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and API contracts
• Event-driven architectures with Kafka or RabbitMQ
• AWS cloud services, containerized microservices
• MuleSoft integration experience and MongoDB familiarity
• Advocates diversity, inclusion, and curiosity in work
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development, testing, and integration of modern applications and systems
• Drive development of high-performance applications, APIs, and data solutions
• Mentor and collaborate across teams and with external vendors
• Deeply understand business objectives within Workplace Solutions and deliver impactful solutions
• Continuously optimize applications balancing performance and scalability
• Contribute to testing, maintenance, and integration efforts
• Build unit testing frameworks (JUnit/Spock) and ensure quality
