Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer in Seattle to design and deliver scalable solutions across the organization. You will drive modern engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, and AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring reliability, security, and operational excellence.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead architectural decisions, and collaborate on end-to-end projects across front-end and backend services using .NET, Java, and modern frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• 4+ years of backend experience with .NET, Java, ASP.NET Core, or Spring Boot.
• Strong frontend skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), ReactJS, Redux, Hooks.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data formats JSON, XML, YAML.
• Cloud experience on Azure, AWS, or GCP; knowledge of responsive design.
• Familiar with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: contribute to architectural decisions and engineering standards.
• AI Application Development: design and leverage AI-powered development tools.
• Full-Stack Development: build scalable front-end and back-end services.
• Observability and Reliability: implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Cloud-Native Architecture: design cloud-native solutions and automation.
• DevOps Practices: utilize CI/CD, IaC, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate Across Teams: work with cross-functional teams across the lifecycle.
• Developer Productivity: drive platform reuse and self-service tooling.
• API and Microservices: develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Lead and Mentor: conduct design sessions and mentor junior engineers.
• Documentation: publish and maintain design references and runbooks.
