Job summary

Perplexity in San Francisco is seeking an engineer for the Integrations team to define the technical direction of products that connect Perplexity to workflows across multiple verticals and to build applied AI systems end-to-end.

You will own data pipelines, ship features quickly, mentor others, and collaborate with AI, Design, Data Science, and Infra to deliver high-quality experiences such as a Personal CFO and Email Assistant.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on large, ambiguous projects.
• Strong execution with multiple products and experiments in parallel.
• Strong product judgment translating user behavior into simple, effective technical solutions.
• An "extra zero" mindset: aiming for 10x outcomes and end-to-end ownership.
• Self-motivated with ownership instincts; you propose ideas and ship features early.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.
• Genuine interest in and adoption of AI products and willingness to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic apps, features, and workflows that make Perplexity a daily driver for users.
• Lead vertical-specific products and AI-powered experiences like a Personal CFO and Email Assistant, turning connected data into reliable, high-impact tools people want to use every day.
• Own the data backbone of pipelines, infrastructure, and connectors that bring user and enterprise data to agents and products at a 99.9% reliability bar.
• Drive end-to-end projects across the full stack, running experiments in parallel and hill-climbing on adoption, retention, and revenue.
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with AI, Design, Data Science, and Infra to ship products that don\'t exist anywhere else.
