Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions. You will build a new web app stack, apply LLM-codegen, and architect agent-driven AI in a cloud-based AWS environment.

Collaboration with customers and rapid learning of new tools and domains are essential. We expect 3–5 years of full-stack experience, a BS in a technology field, and proficiency with AWS, R, and GitHub CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology discipline.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and domains (R, data science, agentic AI).
• 3–5 years of full-stack software development experience.
• Experience with development, maintenance and testing following industry best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent cloud-based web apps.
• Some background in statistics is a plus.
• AWS hosted applications.
• R and R data science libraries.
• GitHub-driven CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support a new web application stack.
• Leverage and refine LLM-codegen processes to balance agility and quality.
• Develop and leverage agent-driven AI architectures.
• Work closely with customers and adapt tools to their needs.
• Develop psychometrics and data science-focused tools in R.
• Operate, extend and create cloud-based solutions in AWS.
• Maintain code with best practices for maintainability, performance, security, and verifiability.
• Learn new processes, tools and business domains.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver robust software on time.
