Job summary

Fidelity is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and develop RESTful APIs in a .NET and Java stack. The role emphasizes scalable service design, microservices architecture, and collaboration across global teams.

Onsite work model is transitioning in phases, with strong emphasis on code reviews and production readiness. You will contribute to legacy modernization efforts, mentor engineers, and support releases to production in a financial-services context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of software development on enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of .NET coding practices for mid-tier applications.
• Experience leading and mentoring developers.
• Experience with re-platforming large applications and designing scalable APIs.
• Experience with cloud-native development in AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and multi-language stacks (NET/JAVA).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs in .NET and Java stacks.
• Apply design patterns (OO, DD, SOA, Microservices) across services.
• Develop skills in Java, Spring MVC/Core/Boot.
• Implement OOA/OOD/OOP and relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server/Sybase).
• Contribute to CI/CD using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
• Build Docker/Kubernetes-based APIs deployed to AWS/Azure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Create and publish clear design documentation and participate in formal reviews.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related technology discipline

• 7 plus years of software development experience on business critical, enterprise-wide applications
• Strong knowledge of .NET coding practices for mid-tier applications that perform business logic and calculations.
• Knowledge building Java APIs is a plus.
• Expertise in building scalable, server-side enterprise applications, domain logic intensive RESTful APIs
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of developers
• Experience with re-platforming large applications
• Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining high-volume transactional systems
• Experience in developing cloud neutral applications in AWS and Azure
• Ability to debug through legacy systems and capture current state to aid with modernization
• Actively participates in and contributes to formal reviews of architecture, design and code

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
