SimpliSafe in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build and optimize our e-commerce platform end-to-end. You will design, develop, test, and deploy scalable services that power a high-velocity online shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing software and business solutions.
• Collaborative team player with Agile experience and continuous delivery of high-quality software.
• Knowledge of REST and other modern web patterns and technologies.
• Develops and maintains server-side web applications with frameworks like NestJS, Next.js, Symfony, or Laravel.
• Experienced history of working with Node.js in TypeScript.
• Experience working with React, React Router, Remix, or other modern JavaScript frontend frameworks.
• Experienced cloud-native developer (AWS preferred), focused on creating scalable services using performant architecture patterns and tools.
• Knowledge of SQL including ORM (TypeORM, Prisma, or others), query optimization, and schema design.
• Comfortable with the command line across platforms.
• Ability to provide examples of leading or developing full-stack solutions from concept to completion.
• Desire to take ownership of projects and outline a path for other engineers to follow.
• Passion for building new things and integrating with existing data and third party systems.

• Build reporting services and self-service internal tools to expand SimpliSafe's capabilities.

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer you will:

• Build solutions for our e-commerce platform including design, development, testing, and deployment


• Use the best tools for the job; creating right-sized, tested, and reliable services to meet the needs of the customers and co-workers


• Work with marketing teams to ensure a high quality, fast, and easy online shopping experience for our customers


• Work with our data analytics team to ensure we are capturing the information we need to drive business decisions

About You

• Knowledge of SQL including experience with ORM (TypeORM, Prisma, or others), query optimization, and schema design


• Comfortable with the command line across platforms


• Ability to provide examples of leading or developing full-stack solutions from concept to completion


• A desire to take ownership of projects and outline a path for other engineers to follow


• Passion for building new things as well as integrating with existing data and third party systems

Nice to have skills

• E-Commerce experience


• Knowledge of containerization including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS


• Experience with Commercetools or Contentful CMS


• Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Contentful Personalization or Optimizely


• Infrastructure as code and DevOps experience


• Knowledge of functional programming concepts

The target annual base pay range for this role is $117,300 to $156,400.

This target annual base pay range represents our good‑faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market‑based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. We carefully tailor individual compensation packages, including base pay, taking into consideration employees' job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant business factors.
