Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable features for an e-commerce platform built on Next.js and Azure.
• Own critical systems including payment processing and CMS integration.
• Lead technical initiatives from design through deployment, ensuring performance and security.
• Build and optimize a TypeScript monorepo using Turborepo.
• Drive integration with CommerceTools, Contentful, Auth0, Braze, and payment gateways.
• Establish engineering standards across testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business requirements into tech solutions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This Senior Full Stack Engineer position can work out of Alameda, CA location.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on technical expertise and the ability to lead and mentor engineers. The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable, high-performance applications, contributing to architectural decisions, and solving complex technical challenges. In this role, you will help design, develop, and optimize cloud-based applications and infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and champion engineering best practices that support operational excellence.

The successful candidate will have experience delivering end-to-end solutions across the full technology stack, mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles is highly desirable. Exposure to software delivery and release management is a plus.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and architect scalable features for our Direct-to-Consumer e-commerce platform built on Next.js and Azure

• Own critical systems including payment processing, CMS integration, authentication, and commerce workflows

• Lead technical initiatives from design through deployment, ensuring performance, security, and reliability

• Build and optimize our TypeScript monorepo using Turborepo, balancing shared code with application independence

• Drive integration strategy for third-party platforms including CommerceTools, Contentful, Auth0, Braze, and payment gateways

• Establish engineering standards and best practices across testing, monitoring, and deployment

• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Optimize application performance including Core Web Vitals, bundle size, and serverless function efficiency

• Contribute to architectural decisions that impact the scalability and maintainability of the platform

• Champion accessibility, internationalization, and compliance requirements (GDPR, PCI-DSS)
