Job summary

Omnissa seeks a Sr. Full Stack Developer to join the App Volumes team. You will design and implement application virtualization features, build microservices in Horizon Cloud, and solve packaging of Windows apps. You’ll leverage Ruby on Rails, React/JS, and RESTful APIs while collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, secure software.

You’ll work hybrid from Mountain View, CA with strong ownership and an agile mindset, supported by AI tools to accelerate delivery.

Job Overview

As a Sr. Full Stack Developer on the App Volumes team, you will solve the packaging and virtualization of Windows applications for simplified application management. You will write code, design and develop application virtualization software, present ideas and improvements, and innovate to make the code and process better. You will be supported by world‑class AI tools to improve your productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop application code in App Volumes Manager using Ruby on Rails.
• Develop microservices in Horizon Cloud Services for App Volumes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry work experience and hands‑on development.
• Strong background in full‑stack development using different frameworks and languages.
• Back‑end web development skills using Ruby on Rails with SQL databases (Postgres, SQL Server) or proficiency in Java/J2EE.
• Front‑end web development skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, or strong experience with Java and Spring.
• Hands‑on experience developing features for enterprise‑scale systems with knowledge of building high‑scale services.
• Strong experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of test‑driven design and testing concepts such as mocks, stubs, fixtures, and spies.
• Software design and architectural skills in object‑oriented and functional programming styles.
• Basic knowledge of PKI and SSL certificates.
• High degree of ownership, ability to determine what needs to be done and make it happen.
• Passion for Agile software development methodologies and collaborative development.
• Understanding of continuous integration practices.
• Excellent communication at all levels and across diverse cultural, geographical, and linguistic contexts.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) and ability to operate in a DevOps model.
• Experience with Atlassian development tools such as Jira, Stash, and Bamboo.
• Experience with Windows systems administration and software development.
• Experience with Active Directory or other LDAP‑based directory services.
• Experience with other interpreted languages and frameworks such as PHP (Laravel, Cake), Python (Django), and JavaScript (Express).
• Basic knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Experience with Jenkins (CI), Cucumber, and Bamboo.
• Knowledge of common website and enterprise security issues.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base salary for this role is between USD $176,362 and $270,000 per year and may be eligible for participation in a corporate bonus program. Actual compensation offer may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, or other relevant factors.
