Job summary

Steampunk in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and deploy microservices and cloud-based systems using Java and React. You will collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and drive secure, high-quality software through automated testing and DevSecOps practices.

You will lead code reviews, improve reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement while working in an Agile environment and delivering scalable solutions for federal contracting scenarios.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of front-end and backend software development with Java and React.
• Experience developing cloud-native services or APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD experience using Jenkins or GitHub Pipelines.
• Experience developing with Docker containers.
• Experience implementing automated testing frameworks (unit tests).

As a Senior Software Developer, you will work with a team of developers to deliver software features, APIs, and micro-service solutions. We are looking for candidates with 7+ years of experience writing software using Agile and DevSecOps methods such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and test automation.

• Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks including unit testing

Preferred

• Experience supporting technical demonstrations or tech challenges
• 5+ years of application development in an Agile environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills

The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $185,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
