Job summary

Long Finch Technologies, LLC. is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise web applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and .NET/.NET Core.

You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions on Azure, with a strong focus on performance, security, and reliability. The role requires expertise in Azure Functions, CI/CD with Azure DevOps, and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise application development and software engineering.
• 6+ years of experience developing modern web applications using Next.js and TypeScript.
• 6+ years of experience developing backend services and RESTful APIs using C#, .NET Core/.NET, ASP.NET Web API, and Azure Functions.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, API design, and asynchronous processing.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server 2019+ or Azure SQL, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with Entity Framework Core and modern data-access techniques.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, application security, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and support mission‑critical enterprise applications.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise web applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and serverless applications using C#, ASP.NET Core Web API, .NET 8+, and Azure Functions.
• Design and implement microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures to support business-critical applications.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL Server 2019+ and Azure SQL, including query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Implement efficient data-access patterns using Entity Framework Core and related technologies.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, supporting automated builds, testing, deployments, and release management.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code principles to improve infrastructure consistency, scalability, and deployment automation.
• Design and implement Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) with a focus on responsiveness, accessibility, performance, and user experience.
• Integrate Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, and serverless services to support secure API access and asynchronous communication.
• Modernize legacy applications by refactoring existing systems, migrating workloads to Azure, and adopting contemporary application architectures.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support container orchestration and deployment using Kubernetes.
• Optimize front-end performance and implement maintainable, scalable application architectures using Next.js, TypeScript, and modern Angular where applicable.
• Implement application monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and distributed tracing using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, or similar observability tools.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability while supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.
