Job summary

Solution Innovators in South Windsor, CT, seeks a senior back-end developer to own architectural decisions and build large data-driven applications. You will work with Python for data processing, design content models, APIs, and ensure clean, maintainable code from database schema to front-end templates.

We value ownership, integrity, and communication, with 7+ years of backend experience, PHP (Laravel/Symfony), MySQL expertise, and front-end exposure (Vue/React).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional back-end development experience.
• Comfortable building large applications and handling big projects.
• Make architectural decisions and explain reasoning clearly.
• Strong MySQL knowledge and solid database schema design.
• Owns code and understands decisions.
• Shows ownership and integrity, identifies issues and challenges poor decisions.
• Eager to learn new things.
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony is a plus.
• Front-end experience with JavaScript, Vue, or React is a plus.
• Agency or client-facing experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with ProcessWire is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• We require 5 years of PHP experience and 7 years of back-end development experience.
• English proficiency required.
• Located in South Windsor, CT 06074 or nearby for commuting.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Build the backend of a large, data-driven healthcare web application using Python for data processing.
• Make architectural decisions around content models, data structure, API design, and module/service connections.
• Write clean, maintainable code from database schema through front-end template.
• Review and improve existing systems, not just add new functionality.
• Work directly with clients to translate business needs into technical solutions.
