Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Credit Risk Technology team in Houston. You will lead design, development, and enhancement of Credit Risk Reporting platforms using Java and Python, building scalable data pipelines with Databricks and delivering RESTful services.

You will work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, ensuring compliance and driving technology improvements within a diverse, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Financial Engineering, CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering with Java/Python and SQL.
• Proficiency in Java and Python; strong SQL/PL SQL skills.
• Experience with Databricks and Web/API development (RESTful services, AngularJS, EXT JS).
• RDBMS knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly; strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, modernize, and upgrade the Credit Risk technology stack.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient systems with Java or Python.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and analytics with Databricks.
• Develop and maintain web and API services for integration and UX.
• Work in an Agile environment delivering features end-to-end.
• Provide production support and resolve issues promptly.
• Communicate with stakeholders, partners, and SRE teams.
