Job summary

Wostmann and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with deep enterprise Java expertise to design and deliver cloud-native solutions for government and private-sector clients.

You may lead backend or full-stack architecture, driving system design decisions while collaborating with end users and project teams to deliver reliable, maintainable enterprise applications. The role requires strong mentoring and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
• 8+ years of enterprise software development experience with leadership or mentoring.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle, and microservices.
• Experience building cloud-native, distributed systems with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle) or cloud databases.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and modern APIs.
• Ability to learn new stacks quickly and work in Alaska business hours.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java backend systems of microservices.
• Architect cloud-native distributed systems deployed in Kubernetes.
• Translate requirements into scalable designs including API contracts.
• Lead projects and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to safeguard the broader environment.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to frontend when needed (React).
• Create technical docs, requirements, and system specifications.
