Job summary

CoinPicks in downtown Orlando, Florida is seeking a hands-on AI-focused full-stack developer to own the current website, research plans, and integrations, including the Beacon API and user access controls. You will build and ship AI features, evaluate models, handle tool-calling workflows, monitor production, and collaborate on the roadmap for autonomous agents and automated trading.

The role

Own full-stack development on the current CoinPicks website, including member research, planning, learning, account access and integrations. AI development is a core, ongoing responsibility: build, evaluate, deploy and maintain AI features that use CoinPicks research and strategy. Work on the existing Beacon API and help develop the planned lead-agent and specialist-agent experience. The autonomous agent team and automated trading are still in development; this role helps build that roadmap with clear permissions and reliable behavior.

What you’ll own

• Improve the existing Next.js and React website across research, planning and learning, connecting useful interfaces to APIs, SQL data, background jobs and integrations.
• Build and ship AI research and strategy features using model APIs, retrieval from approved sources, structured outputs and controlled tool execution.
• Extend the Beacon API and agent integrations around the daily coin list, research, risk levels and potential levels; help build the planned lead agent and specialist workflows.
• Own AI evaluations, source grounding, failure handling, fallbacks, monitoring and cost and latency controls from development through production.
• Enforce member access and data boundaries in both ordinary requests and AI retrieval or tool calls; protect authentication, secrets and user permissions.
• Investigate production failures, measure performance, review code, and document operational decisions for the team.

What you’ll bring

• Required: hands‑on AI developer experience, demonstrated by at least one AI feature or product you personally built, shipped to real users and supported after launch, with supporting evidence.
• Practical experience integrating model APIs and building retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), AI agents or tool‑calling workflows, including evaluations and production failure handling.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, backend API and SQL skills, with ownership of testing, GitHub delivery and cloud deployment in production systems.
• Ability to explain your own AI architecture, data access, security boundaries, evaluation results and cost or latency tradeoffs. General web development experience without AI development experience is insufficient.

• First 30 days: understand the current website and Beacon API, review the AI roadmap and data permissions, and agree a scoped AI feature with a measurable evaluation baseline.
• By day 60: deliver the agreed AI feature through review and deployment with evaluations, permission checks, monitoring, fallbacks and a rollback path.
• By day 90: own its production operation and demonstrate measured improvement in AI output quality, user experience, reliability or operating cost.

All ranges are in USD. Full‑time roles show annual base salary; part‑time, project and fractional roles show hourly rates. Commission is separate from base pay. All roles are in person in downtown Orlando, Florida. Final pay, scope, hours and any commission terms will be agreed in writing before an offer or engagement.

We will not hire candidates without hands‑on AI development experience. You must have personally built and shipped an AI feature or product to real users. Using AI chat tools or coding assistants alone, coursework and prototypes do not qualify.
