Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for the Phoenix area to oversee all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at the site. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching for performance and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

The role requires 7+ years of management experience in manufacturing or distribution, a Bachelor's degree, and expertise in Lean methods, staffing, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to meet the business plan.
• Oversees safety, quality, performance and customer experience for Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages Managers to source ideas and create improvement plans for the area.
• Ensures best practices are shared across departments, shifts, and the network.
• Collabs with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers for resources and support.
