Job summary

Picnic is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer in New York to build and scale our real-time logistics and operations platforms. You will work across web and mobile, collaborating with backend and operations teams, and shape frontend architecture for high-throughput systems.

You’ll lead complex features from design to production, own end-to-end execution, and mentor other engineers while delivering fast, scalable React/TypeScript applications for courier operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and modern web app development.
• Solid understanding of client networking, async programming, performance optimization, and state management.
• Experience integrating with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Ability to lead initiatives and influence architecture; mentoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance React applications powered by WebSockets, SSE, and GraphQL subscriptions.
• Contribute to and shape courier mobile apps built in React Native.
• Lead technical design for complex features from architecture to production rollout.
• Own projects end-to-end, driving execution and cross-functional alignment.
• Improve frontend reliability, latency, and scalability in a real-time environment.
• Lead debugging, incident response, and performance investigations for frontend systems.
• Mentor and coach engineers to raise frontend engineering standards.
