The best candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and dynamic setting and is excited to design, build, and operate services that serve millions of users.

Strong backend engineering fundamentals are essential, along with experience in designing distributed systems, working with databases, and owning services in production. The ability to make sound architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and deliver high-quality code will be key to your success in this role.

If you enjoy solving hard engineering problems at scale and want to have a real impact on products used around the world , we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs

  • Participate in architecture and design discussions; write and review technical design documents

  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage

  • Optimize database schemas and queries; ensure performance and reliability under load

  • Build event-driven and asynchronous workflows using message brokers

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems; take part in incident response and post-mortems

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering best practices

  • Perform code reviews and mentor Middle and Junior engineers

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver features end to end

  • Maintain clear API and technical documentation

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will join a product engineering team of backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps engineers working closely with Product and Design. The team owns its services end to end: from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.

Typical Tech Stack
  • Language: Go

  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis

  • Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS

  • APIs: REST, gRPC, OpenAPI (Swagger)

  • Authentication & Authorization: OAuth 2.0 / OIDC

  • 5+ years of commercial backend development experience

  • Strong proficiency in Go : idiomatic code, concurrency patterns, performance profiling

  • Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL): schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations

  • Experience with Redis or similar caching solutions

  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs (gRPC is a plus) and documenting them with OpenAPI/Swagger

  • Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems trade-offs (consistency, availability, failure modes)

  • Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or similar) and event-driven design

  • Experience with Docker and a good understanding of Kubernetes basics

  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD practices

  • Solid experience with automated testing (unit, integration)

  • Understanding of application security fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, secure handling of secrets and user data, authentication and authorization basics)

  • Good written and spoken English

Preferred
  • Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog, OpenTelemetry)

  • Experience with high-load systems and performance profiling

  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar)

  • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers
