Job summary

Nomura seeks a senior risk professional to join Front Office Risk in the US, focusing on market and counterparty risks across Global Markets. The role oversees significant financial risks and leads enhancements to the risk platform.

You will collaborate with trading desks and risk teams to strengthen risk management and reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong quantitative skills, leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills with knowledge of statistics and financial models.
• Self-starter, proactive, detail-oriented and able to lead others.
• Leadership at executive director level and ability to direct teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, execution-focused with strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to perform ad-hoc analyses on the fly.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, assessment, and escalation of US Global Markets risks.
• Monitor risk profiles, market activity and key flashpoints in Trading Desk portfolios.
• Conduct stress testing, concentration, liquidity, VaR and P&L attribution analyses.
• Challenge Traders around risk profiles and positions when needed.
• Help drive development of the risk platform with new tooling and analyses.
• Collaborate closely with Risk, Traders, and Corporate control functions.
