Qualifications

• 8+ years in front-end with leadership or senior engineer role.
• Expert knowledge of Angular, SASS and HTML.
• Experience implementing design systems; USWDS preferred.
• Hands-on accessibility testing with tools, screen readers, and keyboard navigation.
• Strong CI/CD and front-end deployment workflow understanding.
• Ability to collaborate with Java backend teams.
• Proven mentoring and engineering best-practice skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end architecture, standards, and code reviews.
• Develop, review, and maintain Staff MIUI UI components.
• Implement USWDS and ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Lead accessibility strategy and testing using automated tools and screen readers.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Improve front-end CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Define the front-end technical roadmap and address architecture gaps.
• Collaborate with Java backend teams to integrate APIs (Java coding not required).
• Prepare technical docs and decision records.
• Apply secure development practices per government data-handling requirements.
