Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Front-end Engineer to build responsive, scalable web applications using Angular or React. You will translate UI/UX designs into high-quality code and ensure performance, accessibility, and security in a federal project for NHTSA.

The role requires 8+ years in front-end with Angular/React, strong TypeScript/HTML5/CSS3, and experience with CI/CD and cloud services. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentoring juniors are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or 6 years of equivalent professional experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on front-end development
• Proven expertise with Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, PostgreSQL, Java, and Node.js
• Strong understanding of modular code, routing, lazy loading, and performance tuning
• Experience in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps environments using Jira and Confluence
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and serverless computing, including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must pass U.S. Public Trust background investigation and be authorized U.S. citizen or green card holder

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive, scalable, and high-performance web applications using Angular (v8+) or React
• Translate UI/UX wireframes and mockups into high-quality front-end code
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure web applications
• Integrate cloud infrastructure via AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, back-end engineers, data professionals, and cross-functional teams
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Optimize applications for performance and security
• Integrate and consume RESTful APIs and external data sources
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Conduct unit and end-to-end testing using Jasmine, Karma, and Protractor
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance and cross-browser compatibility
• Support ongoing application improvements for a federal government customer and DOT’s NHTSA initiative
