Job summary

State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston, MA seeks a Software Engineer focused on front-end development for a sophisticated electronic trading system. You will develop, maintain and enhance UI features using ReactJS and GraphQL while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include hands-on coding, testing, debugging, performance optimization, and leading medium-size projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on software engineering with front-end focus.
• Strong proficiency in ReactJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Knowledge of CSS-in-JS libraries such as Styled Components or Emotion.
• Experience with test frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library).

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot front-end features for a high-performing electronic trading system.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of front-end applications.
• Build interactive UIs using ReactJS and GraphQL.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define technical specs.
• Lead medium-size projects or components from start to finish.
• Contribute to microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Ensure privacy and security standards are followed.
