Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to join a data platform team supporting a major utility’s wildfire mitigation and compliance reporting systems. The role builds React/TypeScript UIs within Palantir Foundry, delivering audit-ready interfaces and data-driven experiences.

The candidate will collaborate with data engineers, PMO, and SMEs in an agile environment to design scalable validation and submission workflows for regulatory reporting data.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining React + TypeScript applications integrated into the Foundry platform
• Integrating frontend applications with the Foundry Ontology to deliver audit-ready, data-driven user experiences
• Designing compliance-focused interfaces that support auditability, traceability, and data transparency
• Building validation and submission workflows for regulatory reporting data
• Collaborating with data engineers, product managers, PMO stakeholders, and SME teams in an agile environment
• Develop reusable UI components for data exploration (filters, drill-downs), data validation, and data extraction and submission flows
• Integrate with the Palantir Foundry Ontology via SDK/APIs and consume structured datasets
• Keep UI components aligned with evolving data schemas
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define and enforce data contracts and interfaces
• Ensure frontend outputs align with regulatory reporting requirements (OEIS, WMP)
• Minimize business logic in the UI and rely on validated backend datasets
• Build user flows for file upload and schema validation, with real-time validation feedback (pass/fail messaging and detailed logs)
• Support structured, scalable validation frameworks for compliance data
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including planning, backlog refinement, and delivery cycles

Location: Oakland, CA (onsite as needed) | Duration: 4-month contract | Pay Range: $70.50 - $77.50/hr

We are seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to join a data platform team supporting a major utility's wildfire mitigation and compliance reporting systems. The platform is built on Palantir Foundry and provides trusted, auditable data for internal reporting and regulatory submissions (OEIS / WMP). It includes a React-based frontend hosted within Foundry, where users explore, validate, and extract compliance data. This role focuses on building data-driven user interfaces that integrate tightly with Foundry datasets and ontology objects, enabling scalable, audit-ready workflows.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and support a variety of projects within the Data Platform / Engineering department. Key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining React + TypeScript applications integrated into the Foundry platform
• Integrating frontend applications with the Foundry Ontology to deliver audit-ready, data-driven user experiences
• Designing compliance-focused interfaces that support auditability, traceability, and data transparency

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong experience with React in enterprise applications
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience building data-driven UI applications with API-integrated frontends
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (schemas, structured datasets)
• Understanding of performance considerations for large datasets in the UI
• Preferred: experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data platforms
• Preferred: experience integrating frontends with SDKs/APIs for structured data access, and with ontology-based or metadata-driven systems
• Preferred: experience with data validation or quality frameworks
• Preferred: experience with internal enterprise tools or platforms
