Job summary

Virginia Tech is seeking a Front-end Developer to design, develop, and document responsive user interfaces for enterprise systems serving the university community. You will provide technical input on complex projects and serve as an expert in one or more business areas.

The role involves collaborating across departments, implementing new UI features, and ensuring quality through testing and QA, with a 40-hour work week and a salary range of $81,500 – $98,400.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
• Experience with React, JavaScript frameworks, and libraries.
• Experience with React Material UI.
• Experience with unit/integration testing with Jest/React.
• Full lifecycle UI development experience from requirements to implementation.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of responsive design principles.
• Exposure to WCAG.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development, deployment, testing of responsive UI components.
• Prepare detailed program specifications and coordinate solutions with user departments.
• Investigate user problems, identify sources, and determine solutions.
• Analyze enhancement requests and recommend optimal approaches.
• Handle multiple assignments and collaborate with colleagues.
• Instruct and review work of other technical personnel and perform QA.
