Job summary

Relay, a Boston-based digital banking platform, is hiring two Design Engineers to own the front-end across the product. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure high-quality UI, interactions, and a scalable design system that ships with polish.

You’ll contribute to Telegraph, Relay’s design system, and champion accessibility, performance, and cross-browser support. A hybrid work setup in Boston is offered to collaborate with teams in person.

Qualifications

• Proficient in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and modern CSS.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to ship quality UX.
• Strong craft mindset and attention to detail; a portfolio or GitHub demonstration is expected.
• Ability to write accessible, responsive, and maintainable UI code.
• Experience in building scalable design systems or contributing to one is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end quality across the product and reduce UI/UX debt.
• Lead UI implementation for new features from concept through launch.
• Evolve and maintain Telegraph, Relay's design system, including APIs and docs.
• Champion accessibility and performance as core requirements.
• Collaborate with designers throughout development to improve handoffs and workflows.
• Build reusable components and tooling to accelerate product development with AI support.
