Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Principal Front End Engineer to define and advance our front-end engineering vision and standards across multiple teams. You will own technical design for critical front-end platforms and mentor other engineers, while collaborating with product, UX, and architecture to align with roadmaps.

The role emphasizes scalable architectures, modern web technologies, and enterprise delivery, with a focus on collaboration, coding excellence, and leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 15+ years designing and developing complex software or web-based systems.
• Experience designing, building, and supporting production-grade web SDKs including JavaScript/TypeScript API design, browser compatibility, versioning, and observability.
• Deep expertise in front-end architecture, web platform engineering, and enterprise-scale delivery.
• Proven success leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions and drive strategic initiatives.
• Advanced knowledge of SDLC, DevOps, and automated testing approaches.
• Strong experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks, API integration, CI/CD, source control, and cloud delivery models.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.
• Background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance enterprise front-end engineering strategy, architecture, and standards across multiple teams and initiatives.
• Establish principles and guardrails for quality, accessibility, maintainability, testing, and scalability.
• Own technical product design and architecture for critical front-end platforms and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with product management, software engineering, UX, and architecture to shape engineering approaches and align with roadmaps.
• Build production-grade web SDKs for external partner or merchant integrations.
• Identify and drive adoption of industry best practices and modernization opportunities.
• Provide enterprise-level guidance on cloud alignment, CI/CD, testing, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Serve as a senior expert on difficult engineering issues and decisions.
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders across the organization.
• Build trusted relationships across functions and influence engineering outcomes and maturity.
• Represent the organization in high-impact technical discussions with senior stakeholders.
