Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Freight Rail Engineering Project Manager to join our Transportation Practice. You will lead planning and design teams for railroad projects domestically, manage business development, scope, staffing, project oversight, quality and financial performance, with a focus on rail industrial development.

Adhere to safety programs and promote safety performance.
Lead design teams in rail engineering and design/build projects.
Provide leadership across safety, quality, procurement, construction and project controls.
Develop and manage client relationships and interface on proposals.
Lead risk reviews and coordinate with Legal.
Manage contract administration, RFIs, submittals, changes, closeout and claims.
Plan, budget and schedule personnel, projects and objectives.
Mentor junior staff and promote new technologies in rail engineering.
Communicate project status, risks, schedule and costs to stakeholders.
