Job summary

News 12 is seeking a creative Freelance Senior Special Projects Producer/Editor to join our team. This role focuses on developing and executing multi-platform, audience-driven long-form content that aligns with the network’s vision and brand.

The candidate will produce, shoot, and edit, coordinating with News and Marketing to ensure the final product meets deadlines, budget, and quality expectations. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork are essential in our collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism or Mass Communications.
• 5+ years of videography, producing, and editing in broadcast or cable TV.
• Proficiency with production equipment and editing suites (DSLRs, Premiere/AE, Photoshop).
• Knowledge of production and post-production techniques.
• Strong organizational, project and time management skills with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create multi-platform content (linear, OTT, digital, social) maintaining network voice.
• Develop and produce shoots from pre to post-production within budget.
• Contribute to storytelling by researching and planning segments.
• Collaborate across departments (news, programming, marketing) to meet deadlines.
• Utilize various camera formats (DSLR, iPhone, GoPro) to elevate storytelling.
• Adapt to evolving industry technology and workflows.
